Florence & the Machine
Event on 2012-05-24 20:00:00
New York City-based Blood Orange (AKA Dev Hynes of Testicicles and Lightspeed Champion fame) has been locked in to support Florence + the Machine across Australia and New Zealand. Blood Orange is the music of a seedy yet inspirational New York night time; catch these sexy, neon sounds this May!
Fanning the flames of a fire started just under two years ago, Florence + The Machine are set to ignite
stages across the country when they return to Australia in May 2012 for a national arena tour.
Following on from the multi-million selling, multi-award winning, global smash of a debut album
‘Lungs,’ Florence + The Machine first landed on Australian shores in January 2010 on the Laneway Festival bill;
playing to stunned audiences over the course of the festival as well as her own headline club shows. Barely six
months later, her ascension to stardom took a further leap when she returned to wow audiences on the main stage at
Splendour In The Grass and sell out multiple theatre shows from Perth to Brisbane. So overwhelming was the demand
that shows sold out in record timing and her stay in Australia was extended to allow additional shows not previously
The phenomenal success story of the debut album ‘Lungs’ – certified double platinum in Australia, peaking at #3 on
the ARIA Album Chart with the much loved singles ‘You’ve Got The Love,’
Kiss With A Fist’ & ‘Dog Days Are Over’ – has paved the way for her much lauded and highly
anticipated sophomore release, ‘Ceremonials.’ Debuting at #1 on the ARIA charts on the week of release,
this stunningly accomplished record is showing no sign of slowing down.
Florence Welch is an artist teetering on the wind-blown top of her game,
and this record is an extraordinary testament to what she refers to as “my incorrigible maximalism.”
The pounding epiphanic positivism of ‘Spectrum’; the galloping massed-ranks majesty of ‘All This And Heaven Too’
and ‘Shake It Out;’ the triumphant emotional battle cries of ‘No Light No Light’ and ‘Heartlines.’
Spend a little time with Ceremonials and what strikes you first and foremost is the apparent
confidence of its execution.

Comedy Show with Valleymoviegroup
Event on 2012-02-04 18:00:00
Sign up with http://www.valleymoviegroup.com to get reserved seats up close to the front with a group of great people. Everyone else sits in the back on steel folding chairs.
Clean Comedy USA in combination with Valley Movie Group will be Hosting a night of hilarious comedy like no other.
The show starts at 7pm but I need members there by 6:15 for reserved seats or much earlier, they take reserved seating away from us at 6:30. Last month we had all reserved seats taken by 6:06 and the comedy venue had to turn away about 50 people. They had so many guests that they had another 50 people stand on the side because they wanted to see the show. This is a big place so you don't want to sit all the way in the back. We have had lots of people join our group just so they can get the reserved seating. They find it very worth it to pay to charity for a much better seat. I personally prefer that people get there before 6:15. Randy will save us 25 seats. Act now, RSVP and book the first Saturday of every month on your calender, these are events you do not want to miss!
Tickets are plus the I ask for March of Dimes. Drinks and snacks are 75 cents and proceeds go to charity. The event gets was packed, the location can hold about 250 people. The even is next to a church recreation center, but not associated with the church. It is a lot of fun.
We are going to Dinner after comedy. We are going to Manuels Mexican Restaurant 28th st and Indian School. We get a 10% discount, thanks to Jason. Questions about the show. Call Jayson at 480-518-0747.
Also, feel Free to Contact Jayson for an Insurance quote. He's the best in the business, and has been voted by Clean Comedy USA as the #1 best agent, in both helping his customers with insurance, and also promoting their own line of work. Jane's complexion and features often caused strangers to assume that she was white. What were the realities for mulattoes (biracial) who appeared white in Virginia? Did she have enough white ancestry to be legally classified as white? What were her options to escape the limitations based on her racial identity?
Jane, like many mulatto free blacks in Virginia, struggled with her racial and political identity in the aftermath of the American Revolution. Jane hoped that the ideals of "man's natural rights" would improve the lives of the free black communities.
Her father was Moses, a slave owned by Peyton Randolph, and her mother was an Irish woman, Elizabeth Maloney. Since interracial relationships were forbidden by Virginia law, Jane was considered an illegitimate child. Illegitimate mulatto children served longer periods of apprenticeship than their white counterparts; 21 years for mulatto females, compared to 18 years for whites.
Included in all Historic Area admission passes. This 25-minute program begins every 30 minutes: 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., noon, and 12:30 p.m.
