Well I certainly hope that’s the case, he’ll be replacing Kelly Gregg right? Chiefs have a solid defense now more than ever, this guy could honestly be the pick that helps boost the Chiefs to Top 10 D or the Chiefs will stay right where they’re at.

  2. xminnis says:

Pioli said they had him ranked as the #1 true NT in the draft before the combine even happened. This guy was forced to play 0,1,3, 5, and 7 technique all in one game you can tell from his tape. Also against a ton of dink and dunk offenses. Playing 5 different positions against that type of offense what do you expect? He will get to stick to only a 0 technique in KC to perfect that and with Romeo coaching him up with a great track record of developing NTs….. Look out

  3. DoMathNow says:

I can’t believe the chance the Chiefs took on this guy…I’d like to think they know what they’re doing, but all they are basing his ability on is the Combine. Now I’m sure we’re all familiar with Glenn Dorsey and how well he’s (not) done, but at least it was believable for a little while that he could be great. With this young man all we know is he can dominate a skills competition, but if I was drafting, I would have taken Fletcher Cox because of what I’ve seen him doing on the field.

  4. TheBurninator50 says:

He definitely holds his own and doesn’t get shoved around, but it’s almost like he doesn’t quite understand how strong and fast he is. Like he has no idea that he can just run right through, past, and over this man in front of him. There are quite a few 3 step drops by Tulane here, however he does tend to give up on plays pretty quickly. He will need some major work on the mental side of things before he’s ready to be any kind of a threat at the next level.

  5. plummcrazy58 says:

Awesome player! Taking on double and triple teams and still not getting put on the ground.

  6. Edgar1021 says:

One of the analyst I watched noted that Poe had 3 defensive coordinators in three years at Memphis. The thought was that he hasn’t been well coached. Mayock has noted several times on the NFL network that he is a hard worker so he won’t need to be motivated. Given Crennel’s record as a defensive coach I’m betting on boom rather than bust.

  7. IliketoGHOSS says:

He’s taking double teams and sometimes triple teams on every single snap. I don’t think people really realize that.

  8. biglittlejujitsuman says:

i dont know guys i see him get double teamed alot here. you wont find much tape on casey hampton as he has no highlights but he absorbed two blockers at a time all through his career and is one of the main reasons the steelers blitzes have been so sucessfull for the last 10 years.

  9. drummerseahawkboy says:

A couple of the NFL Network analyst have my Seahaws taking him at 12 in the 1st round Bahahahahaha SMMFH………

  10. StrongForgiveness says:

    Thanks for posting this.

  11. ARMANIgoggles says:

the fuck is he doing? just filling space. we need a playmaker. I’d prefer Dallas draft a DE. someone who will actually get in the back field and help Ware cause damage

  12. klowe2211 says:

    Very true….

  13. MrKbreboot says:

agreed. Risky pick, but he could prove us wrong. who knows.

  14. sackBo says:

    No hands terrible.

  15. delphey says:

For such a huge, strong guy, he has no push. Doesn’t seem to have any fire. Physically, no explosion either. Also poor vision in finding the ball and reacting to the play… doesn’t seem to have football instincts. More like he has decided before the play starts what he is going to do. I was curious before after watching his combine performance, but would be disappointed if my team picked him up any earlier than the 4th round.

  16. klowe2211 says:

I’m not impressed either. Granted he drew a lot of double teams, but w/that speed and power, you’d think he could get off some of those blocks. Also noticed on pass plays, when singled up, he gets taken outside w/ease. The spin move he uses makes it easier to block him (takes himself out). Has a slow motor as well. Didn’t dominate a weak conf (2nd team all-conf), and people think he will in the NFL?? A project @ best (got the tools), as everything mentioned can be fixed IN TIME. Risky pick…

  17. BIGNOEL79 says:

Poe plays to weak no firing or penetration he gets push around. At best with this tape he will be a 7th round to undrafyed

  18. Ramon Hayden says:

They don’t play football in T-shirts and shorts! Show me the tape! Damn there is nothing on here. With the physical attributes this guy has and the level of competition he faced… This is what he does on the field? Definitely not impressed in fact it’s a terrible performance vs a 2-11 team! Based on the combine Top 10 pick, based on actually playing football 5th or 6th round draft pick. Can he be coached up? That’s the million dollar question…. Pittsburgh if he is there at 24 puff puff pass

  19. larrwd says:

THE COWBOYS ARE TRYING TO GET HIM …TRYING TO STAY QUIET ABOUT IT

  20. elroyluster says:

you guys are right he only had 1 tackle but seriously he is a defense tackle he is not going to dominate just yet. but look at all the positive plays where he closes the pocket i do believe he is a top 15 pick and with teaching could be dominant.

  21. hughmorus says:

    Dallas just say no!

  22. ARMANIgoggles says:

playing for a team with an established pass rusher already would probably enable him to shine. say the Cowboys (rumored to be interested) who have weapons like Ware and Ratliff already. move Ratliff to end and use Poe to plug middle and bring down work horse running backs when they wanna go north.

  23. loverboi812 says:

for a guy as strong as he is he relies o finesse way to much. also he catches blockers instead on engaging. kid has the tools but he is as RAW as they come.

  24. tsujones29 says:

very athletic, notice that tulanes blocking sheme is kinda based around him. they run alot of offset plays, quick passes, draw runs etc to throw him off. He doesn’t have great awareness but his quick jump off the ball still makes it hard for the O-lineman to block him. notice that he is in the backfield almost every time early in the tape just can’t get to the QB or RB. pair him with some big time play makers and he could be really good with better work ethic. “based on this tape”

  25. savage1005 says:

this guy is a total workout warrior. im not impressed

  26. Scott says:

Since when is the Cincinnati Reds logo “inappropriate”? The Reds were founded more than 100 years ago as the “Red Legs” because of the color of socks worn. The name was over the course of time. The same process was using for the New York Knicks from the longer Knickerbockers.

If like to talk about inappropriate logos, why not mention the Washington Redskins, Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Chiefs or Atlanta Braves.

I added a video to a playlist 2012 NFL Draft. Pick Overall – Dontari Poe. Kansas City Chiefs
