Atlanta hosted perhaps it’s only Sugar Bowl as the Superdome was still unfit from Katrina to host the game. UGA got behind early and almost rallied but got duped on a fake punt at the end of the game.

What are the Florida Gators’ chances at a SEC championship and a national championship now that they have lost?

Question by flnovgirl: What are the ‘ chances at a SEC championship and a now that they have lost?
Ok, so I just watched Ole Miss beat my Florida Gators and I am ticked. I want to know what you think. If Florida can win the rest of its games (this includes a win against Georgia) do they still have a shot at the SEC championship or even the national title? How will BCS voters view today’s loss?

The SEC is still very competitive, there are still a lot of games to go. Their national championship hopes are probably over, but SEC championship is definitely still within reach.

Wouldn’t an LSU vs. Alabama Championship game defeat the purpose?

Question by bfguitarhero: Wouldn’t an LSU vs. Alabama defeat the purpose?
Now, I understand we’re at the point where an LSU/Alabama championship game is almost necessary, since every other team in feels the need to throw away its chance to play in the championship game (Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., Oregon). However, the entire year people are arguing over whether or not the SEC is the best conference in football, and if two teams from that conference play in the , then there is no way of comparing the SEC to other conferences. Forget the whole rematch idea, doesn’t having 2 teams from the same conference in the Championship game defeat the purpose of having a championship game in the first place?
