Henry Rollins

HENRY ROLLINS trades in his airline miles for a tour bus with the launch of his FREQUENT FLYER TOUR in early 2010. HENRY's latest talking tour kicks off January 12 in Dublin, with the 45-date first North American leg departing from San Diego on February 17. Following stops in Australia and , HENRY returns for a second North American leg in mid-May.

As he did for last year's Recountdown tour, Shepard Fairey designed the promotional posters for the FREQUENT FLYER TOUR.

"Since I was last on tour, I have been working in television and radio, traveling all over the world," says HENRY. "And like everyone else, dealing with the changes America – and the world – is going through. I thought America would become a more peaceful place in 2009. I had no idea the country had so many lunatics. There's a lot to remark upon, of course. There always is."

When HENRY talks about traveling the world, he's not referring to plush resorts and genteel European cities. HENRY's current and most recent travels include stops in , Indonesia, Brunei, , Bangladesh, India, Nepal, China, and Senegal. These global experiences – like past excursions to such vacation hotspots as Pakistan, Myanmar, and Siberia – not only supply humorous anecdotes for HENRY's talking shows, but they inform his worldview. As Fairey's tour poster bills it, "Knowledge without mileage equals bullsh*t."

Tickets for the FREQUENT FLYER TOUR go on sale December 5, with pre-sales available December 1 through Music Today. For pre-sale information, go to: http://henryrollins.musictoday.com/HenryRollins/calendar.aspx.

Amidst his extensive globetrotting, HENRY the actor, author, and radio host remains as busy as ever. HENRY recently concluded an extended guest run as rival thug A.J. Weston on the FX biker drama Sons of Anarchy. He continues to do his weekly radio show on L.A.'s revered NPR affiliate KCRW.

HENRY's latest book, A Mad Dash, is now available at www.henryrollins.com, through his own 2.13.61 imprint. Picking up where 2007's A Preferred Blur left off, A Mad Dash is a frenetic travelogue spanning over one hundred live performances and the filming of five documentaries on five continents. HENRY has also been tracking his travels – and sharing his thoughts on politics and the state of the world – on his "Straight Talk Espresso" blog at VanityFair.com.

Xavier Doherty Profile

Following Brad Hogg’s retirement, Xavier Doherty will be keen to press his claims as a potential one-day international spinner having carved a limited-overs niche with Tasmania. He was the state’s one-day player of the year in 2006-07, when he collected 11 wickets at 29.72, and was the joint winner of the same award in 2007-08. That season he was one of four men to top the competition wicket tally with 15 at 25.53, including 4 for 18 in the final as Tasmania secured the limited-overs trophy. The repeated successes earned him a place in the Australia A one-day team that toured India in 2008 and he was picked for his first taste with the national side for a Twenty20 match against an All-Stars team in November 2008. His handy lower-order batting adds to his limited-overs value and his first hint of potential higher honours came when the national selectors named him in the preliminary 30-man squad for the 2008 Champions Trophy, which was ultimately postponed. Xavier Doherty Profile

Big things were expected of Doherty, a left-arm orthodox spinner, after he starred at the Under-19 World Cup and was given a Tasmanian debut at 19 in 2001-02. Since then he has struggled for lasting impact in the Pura Cup but with slow-bowling positions opening up in the Test squad, he will also be desperate to win back his place in Tasmania’s first-class team. A 2001 Academy graduate and Prime Minister’s XI representative in 2004, Doherty was not used in the Pura Cup in 2007-08 as Jason Krejza was preferred and he must reduce his first-class average a long way below its current mark of 56.23 to get more regular opportunities in the longer format.

The Popular Beaches of Sri Lanka

The popular beaches of with resort facilities existing in west coast & southern coast of Sri Lanka the best time to visit is October to March during Northten-east monsoon the temparature would be around 28c to 32c this is the time the whole world is experaincng winter. The popular beaches of west & south coast.

The long-established beach resorts at Negombo north of Colombo and conveniently close to the international airport just 10 kilometers & 15 minutes drive offer the opportunity of discovering a historic town with the remains of an ancient fort, being named as little Rome many lovely old Catholic churches and Dutch-built canals, and of seeing the local fishermen in their outrigger canoes in the tranquil lagoon behind the beach, 1 hours drive to Colombo.

Historically Negombo was famous for its cinnamon production during Portuguese & Dutch Period but it had declined after Dutch were defeated in 1796 by British. The Negombo Dutch for which was built in 1672 is situated near the shore however the Dutch fort is in bad shape today due to lack of maintenance.

Negombo is an active fishing village the traditional fishermen do the fishing in the Negombo Lagoon & the sea. Negombo has the second largest fish market in the Island called “Lellama”. The active Negombo beach is the feature with fishermen & their equipments live at any time where tourists can enjoy live catch fish in the beach area just walk away from your hotels. Negombo is a purely a Roman Catholic Town but you can witness how multicultural communities living harmony in Sri Lanka.

Wadduwa is roughly an hour’s drive south of Colombo. Its beaches have golden sands and are perfect for those who are looking for a spot in the sun, amidst the shade of bending and obliging coconut trees. Close to Colombo, 30kms south of Colombo city.

According to the legend, there were many native indigenous doctors in this area in the past. The name for native doctors in Sinhalese Language is “Veda mahaththayaa”, hence it become ‘Veda doova’ meaning the land of the native doctors. It has later become “Wadduwa”

Even though Wadduwa is not yet developed a resort area like Negombo or Bentota but it has lot to offer in the area specially many number of hotels including boutique hotels conveniently located easy to move around a very good place to do excursions to Galle, Yala, Kandy, Sigiriya and Colombo hence many tourists grab the opportunity to stay calm in Wadduwa & travel around Sri Lanka or stay peacefully in the beach.

The wide Bentota River separates the sandy beaches, restaurants and bars of Beruwala from the adjacent resorts of Bentota. Most of the resorts in Bentota and Beruwala have been upgraded recently, with spas added to meet the demand for relaxing Ayurwedic massage and other health and beauty treatments. Some of the best-located resorts are on the peninsula bathed on one side by the Indian Ocean, and on the other by the river, with coconut palms on both sides.

As with most major beach resorts along the southwest coast, many places in Bentota offer major water sports including swimming, water skiing on the rivers or estuaries, snorkeling, scuba diving, wind surfing, parasailing and fishing. Though a prominent beach resort in Sri Lanka, Bentota remains pristine, its tranquil waters and idyllic beaches have earned it a position amongst Forbes Magazines Best Beaches in Asia in 2010.

The convenient location of Bentota is providing an opportunity to explore around Bentota a train trip to Galle or Colombo would provide you to experience the coastal line railway in Sri Lanka & Working life of Sri Lankans. The gardens of “Lunuganga”, Bevis Bawa’s brief garden, a 12th Century Galapota Temple & walking around the local market provide very interesting to learn about the Sri Lankan Culture.

Fishermen and visitors in search of the perfect beach holiday aren’t the only creatures on the beaches of the southwest. Marine turtles come ashore at night to laboriously dig a hole and lay their eggs, covering them up before heading back to sea, leaving the eggs to hatch some 50-60 days later. To avoid the eggs being taken by predators, several private turtle hatcheries have been set up along the coast, perhaps the best known being at Kosgoda, a little to the south of Bentota.

]]>

In this small village of Kosgoda is very famous for their Turtle Hatcheries people voluntarily helping to conserve turtles those who come to the beach of Kosgoda to lay their eggs for years. There are individually operated turtle hatcheries but no government help to conserve turtles, these operators buy turtle eggs from local egg poachers & pay them little extra to encourage them to bring eggs then they release the 3 days old turtles to the sea it is believed that out of 1000 turtles only 1 would survive help sea Turtles by visiting Kosgoda

Hikkaduwa, almost 100 kilometers south of Colombo, has long been known as Sri Lanka’s most popular beach resort, famed for its surf and coral reef as well as its wide range of accommodation, food, fun and shopping. This is perhaps the only coastal region where that special holiday feeling dominates town, with shops selling resort wear, renting out bicycles, offering courses in scuba diving and selling all kinds of local souvenirs, batik fabric and jewellery. Today it’s a favorite with the younger visitor and the vibrant nightlife also attracts young Sri Lankans looking for out-of-town fun and entertainment on the weekends.

Tsunami effected Hikkaduwa is very famous among budget tourists & back packers. Hikkaduwa is still lives up to its reputation of providing cheap & cheerful fun in the sun. Hikkaduwa is also very famous among board surfers. Inland attractions include Gangaramaya Viharaya, The Tsunami affected Seenigama Temple, Moonstone Mine, Boat ride around Hikkaduwa lake last not the least glass bottom boat ride is the most popular activity in the Hikkaduwa Beach.

Beyond Galle the island of Sri Lanka curves eastward and just five miles along this curve, the south coast beach resorts begin with Unawatuna, a pretty sweep of sand backed by a number of small, moderately priced hotels and restaurants. Here, you can snorkel or scuba dive over wrecks, or enjoy lazing on the palm-shaded beach or swimming in the calm clear sea.

Like Hikkaduwa tsunami effected Unawatuna also is very famous among budget tourists & back packers compared to Hikkaduwa Unawatuna is still developing but closer to Galle Fort providing excellent destination for travelers. Walking up to Rumassala is known for its protected medicinal herbs & the Huge peace pagoda run by Japanese monks is a interesting place & walking in the mangrove sanctuary also gives you pleasure.

The delightful sandy beach of Mirrissa was once a well-kept secret, but not surprisingly, more guesthouses, inns and bungalows are now opening up to visitors. Mirrissa boasts a safe, gently sloping beach where the sea is free from rocks, with coconut palms growing right to the edge of the sand as if in imitation of a postcard of the perfect tropical beach. Off the coast of Mirrissa, the gentle giants of the sea Blue Whales frolic with bottlenose Dolphins, Sperm Whales and Humpbacks.

Mirrissa became famous in the tourist map thanks to Whales & Dolphins this fishing town is becoming a very popular attraction among the tourists hence place is rapidly growing beach is closer to the most southern point in Sri Lanka is growing confidence with tourists for snorkeling & scuba diving too there are so many places that tourists can rent them.

The stretch from Tangalla Bay to Weligama is a beautiful coastline with rugged rocks, sandy beaches and coconut groves. Rated by Forbes magazine as amongst Asia’s Best Beaches, a number of secluded beaches and tiny rocky coves characterize the pristine and rather romantic fishing hamlets. At Ahangama and Koggala, fishermen perch on stilts wedged deep into the sand just offshore, sitting on a crossbar and using a line to catch fish as they move in and out with the tide.

At Matara the main attraction is Dutch Fort & several ramparts within the town & the colonial Mosque in the heart of the town. At Dondra 5 Kms south you can reach to the southern most point of Sri Lanka. Tourist attractions include Wewerukannala Viharaya, Hoomanaya Blow Hole then reach to Tangalla.

Many people claim that the beaches around Tangalla have the softest sand and the safest sea along the entire south coast. Tangalla seems set to become the most exclusive of the beaches along the south coast, and offers a chance to scuba dive around the coral reef protecting its four kilometers of sandy beach, and to explore a couple of wrecks. You could also watch nesting marine turtles drag themselves ashore at night to lay their eggs at Rekwalla.

The name of the town in Sinhala means “projected rock”, a reference to the rocks which form the coastline in the town area, which contrasts with the sandy beach of the surrounding areas. Tangalla is a regionally important fishing port and a centre of tourism. In the city centre there is an Old Dutch fort which is used as a prison today. The Main attractions include Mulkirigakla Rock Temple & One of the biggest Fishing Harbour at Tangalla Main center.

The popular beaches of North East coasst with resort facilities existing in North East coast the best time to visit is April to September during Southern monsoon the temparature would be around 28c to 32c this is the time the whole world is experiancing Summer. The popular beaches of west & south coast.

Kalkuda and Pasikuda are two pristine, untouched beaches in the East coast of Sri Lanka. Their white sands, calm waters and sheer beauty remain unrivalled. Close to the town of Batticloa, both the beaches are expected to become international hotspots, as more people discover the charming beauty of this paradisiacal beach.

It used to be a popular tourist destination, however due to 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami and Sri Lankan Civil War tourist numbers have declined. Pasikuda and Kalkuda are located few km apart. Since the end of the civil war in 2009 and the completion of Tsunami rehabilitation projects, Pasikuda has become a popular tourist destination amongst locals and foreigners this is because Pasikuda is known to have one of the longest stretches of shallow coastline in the world. In other words, people walk kilometers into the sea because the water is only a few inches deep and the current is relatively weak compared to the rest of Sri Lanka’s coasts. Pasikuda is easily accessible from Trincomalle and Batticloa, both of which cities have star class accommodation.

http://etravelersrilanka.com/Pasikuda.jsp

Trincomalle, with its magnificent deep harbor, has for centuries been a magnet for merchants, adventurers and colonists. Although the town offers a number of interesting attractions, including a fort and the famous Hindu temple on a rock promontory above the sea, most visitors head for the legendary Nilaveli Beach, or the far less developed, though equally lovely, beach of Uppaveli.

The Bay of Trincomalee’s harbour is renowned for its large size and security; unlike every other in the Indian Sea, it is accessible to all types of craft in all weathers. The beaches are used for surfing, scuba diving, fishing and whale watching. The city also has the largest Dutch fort in Sri Lanka. In fort Frederick area you can see, Buddha Statue at the gokana temple & on up to Swami Rock, 130m high Lovers leap & Koneswaram kovil. The commonwealth war cemetery another attraction of the area, whale & dolphin watching & Snorkeling & diving is possible in Nilaveli or a boat ride to Pigeon Island. It is home to major Sri Lankan naval bases and a Sri Lankan Air Force base.

Big B! India?s Pride, World?s Envy!

Big B! The name itself reveals some magical influence as hundreds of millions of Indians recognise him by his name, by his physical appearance, by his total image as a legendary and versatile actor.

The Big B, meaning the Big Brother of the Bollywood, is the highly venerable, affectionate name attributed to the most seasoned and most sought–after actor of the Indian movie industry, Mr .

More than an actor, Amitabh Bachchan is the embodiment of simplicity and humility and above all that, he is a great human who experienced the heights and lows , sweet and sour, good and bad and of course the accolades and its opposite from the multitudes of India and the world.

He is the man who loves his fans and critics as well. He once tweeted asking people to love their neighbours as they are very important in life. The Big B is also very sensitive to people’s popular opinions and tries to keep off controversies at the most. It is proved beyond doubt that he never intentionally invites adverse publicity or controversies himself.

Sensitive as he is by nature, Bachchan refrained from going to to attend as a special invitee the FIFA function respecting the public opinion of the Tamils in Sri Lanka and India. They opposed his trip to Sri Lanka for the awards function.

As a great actor, the Big B is busy even as he turned 68 on October 11, 2010 and still rocking with energy for his age and getting busier day by day with uninterrupted shooting for movies and TV shows.

Amitabh, who won the national best actor award recently for his action in the movie ‘Paa’ is the busiest star of his generation nowadays in Bollywood. Brimming with irrevocable confidence, he is now playing a lead role along with younger heroes Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor for Rajkumar Santoshi’s movie ‘Power’.

He is also once again busy on small screen as the host of ‘KBC’ on the most popular Sony TV. The first episode of the show was telecast on Monday October 11 coinciding with his birthday.

The popularity of the actor is so high that the TRP ratings of the game show soared to skies even on the first day of its telecast. No surprise, the Bib B is India’s Pride, world’s envy!

High quality columbo picture

Let me reveal a excellent columbo shot:

The Columbo section of ICAT stayed here for the duration of the trip. Juliette and I stayed a few nights here but we spent most of the time at the Suisse in Kandy as I was working at the University of Peradenya. The level of violence (JVP and Tamil) was quite high at this time and so there was a curfew. We spent every evening in the hotel.
